Hershey Community Archives is established. The M.S. Hershey Foundation hires archival consultant Richmond D. Williams to establish a community-wide archival program. Each of the Hershey Entities agrees to support the archival project and to appoint corporate representatives to serve on the Archives Task Force. Under the guidance of the Foundation, the Archives is charged with collecting, processing, preserving, and making available for research essential historical materials of institutions in Hershey and Derry Township.
