Eight cars of a 76-car Norfolk Southern train derail just east of the Derry Road crossing. Hershey Volunteer Fire crews are on scene for three days while railroad officials and hazardous materials crews clean up the wreckage of a Chlorine tanker and seven other train cars. Derry Presbyterian Church, Hershey Trust Company, and Zoo America are closed during the emergency. Parts of Hershey Country Club West are closed, but the swimming pool, the east course, the clubhouse and the tennis courts remain open. The derailment does not affect the Hershey Chocolate Factory or Hersheypark.
